Super yummy jerk chicken with rice!! Good price with good portion!

This is the absolute best takeaway restaurant on the island and my favourite. We stumbled upon it a few years back while cycling and hesitantly went into the cafe expecting the usual boring tea, fry up and packaged food. We were surprised to be greeted with carribean food prepared by real carribeans! I always stick to my favourite dish - jerk chicken with rice & peas and side of plantains, the chicken is so well seasoned and cooked slowly for hours making it soft and almost falling off the bone. It’s then topped with grilled onions and that’s amazing! My other half has tried everything on the menu and loves it all - but the curry chicken is his favourite. I love bringing guests to this authentic cafe and am always so thankful to live so close to this gem. I love being in there and watching the owners dynamic with her regular customers - it’s a community atmosphere where they’re met with a kind smile, exchange a few pleasantries and laughs. Truly baffled by the negative reviews calling the staff rude. I think it says more about the reviewers than it does about the staff 👀. There’s many things that this restaurant is and rude is not one of them.

Lovely people. Fantastic coffee. Definitely going to visit for some home made Carribean food. The view outside is the rolling Thames and Greenwich. Wonderful.
