Greek food at last!. We spend Sunday night at Greek Affair Restaurant with my wife and our 8 years old son and we did not regret it.
Greeks we are known to be difficult customers, especially on food, but this time we were happy to see that there are still Greek Restaurants in London serving real Greek food. Fresh bread (the famous Greek "karveli") instead of the touristic arabic pita bread, fresh spinach pie and roasted lamp with potates were served. The Greek salad is a must, with feta cheese and plenty of tomates (not the touristic 80% lettuce crap). Even the "halva" desert was the one we usually make at home (the soft one) and not the hard one they sell at the super markets.
We were also lucky to sit at the open-air terrace. If you visit the place, call in advance to book a table to the terrace. You feel like being into a Greek island.
Despite the fact that the place was full, service was efficient and the toilets clean.
Real greek food. I think it is necessary to mention that the food here is very good. I am from Greece and stay in London during my University degree, and I always visit this restaurant during term time for real Greek food. There is of course no substitute for the Greek lifestyle experience when you are in Greece, but the food here reminds me of my home and I enjoy eating here very much. Also the management are Greek and this adds to my good experiences as I speak with them like they are my friends, as I do in many restaurants in Greece.
A great little place with friendly staff, quiet atmosphere and simple decor. The food was fantastic, the grande meze is a must. The beat foo I have had in a long time. Perfect.
