“A sensory experience with authentic Thai cuisine” it says on the Thai Square restaurants website, “best Thai in London” so I was looking forward to sampling it. The Putney Bridge branch is within an unusual building whose exterior looks like a ship with metal beams and tall windows with its prow looking on to the bridge has won several architectural awards.
It was the last restaurant I visited in London, and it lived up to my expectations. A wonderful ambience next to river Thames, authentic Thai food. Enjoyed every bit of it.
Yes, price is a bit too high, but the food and service is totally worth it.
I had heard a lot of good reviews so we decided to visit for a family dinner, as a group of seven. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The layout and appearance of the place was very beautiful, with a great view of the river. I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants, so was expecting big things from Thai Square. The food was good, pleasant and filling, but not amazing- I have eaten better Thai meals. I don't think the quality of the food lives up to the price, as it is quite expensive and the service charge was quite large. It was all presented beautifully, but it didn't really have any of the amazing fragrant tastes I have experienced with Thai food before. The drinks are very good. A lovely evening, but probably won't revisit.
