One of the best thing of the season is to spend the late afternoon and evening in a beer garden with friends, at the Constitution you get that, secluded from the road and overlooking the canal, fantastic. The interior is pleasantly well preserved and luminous, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and witty and the selection of drinks is great. At the moment they are hosting a poutine popup, not exceptional but a bowl of hot double cooked chips with gravy and cheese hits the spot while having one (too many?) drinks.
Great pub. Nice mixture of punters and a welcoming atmosphere. Chatty bar staff who know about their drinks. Also has student discount!
As others have said, a ‘proper’ unpretentious pub on Regents Canal - midway between King’s Cross basin and Camden Lock.
If you’re looking for gastro standard food and 10 craft ales on draught, then this isn’t for you. If you want a light, airy pub, a great beer garden, a big screen showing sport, a pool table and reasonably-prices drinks, then this is perfect.
A mix of regulars and passing-trade, like us - service was friendly and we enjoyed our drink break. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
