in a little more than a year this cafe has turned what was a grotty corner on one of the back streets of the Old Kent Road into a social hub. This former closed-down betting shop, all broken plastic with a bit of a funny smell has suddenly become quite a stylish little undiscovered spot in London, uniting the streets surrounding it into a little community and giving the impression it had always been there. This lovely little spot not only makes lovely coffee, cakes and light meals (please try the Belgian Beer and Beef Broth- it is TO DIE FOR!), but the lovely atmosphere and friendly staff makes it a lovely spot to wile away the afternoon.
Ooh and Good News! - I hear they've just got a drinks licence too!
The Hot Chocolate is sublime you will not be disappointed, make sure you order a large cup! If you're feeling peckish try the smoked cheese and chutney toasted sandwich; delicious No exaggeration this place is a hidden gem, pure quality.
The best place for coffee in the area and whenever I go in it strikes me how brilliant the owners are and how welcoming the staff are. Dogs are welcome, there is cyclist parking and lovely interiors (oh, and tasty cakes!). Would highly recommend!
