Lovely little place tucked away on Parkway. The sushi is fresh and the lunch boxes are a nice treat. Slightly eccentric service but that's part of the charm. Much better than many of the other places nearby.

Brilliant fresh Japanese food. I highly recommend this place over Bento Cafe which is situated a little further down the road. The rice used in the nigri and rolls is soft and sticky. It doesn't fall apart straight away when you dip it in soy sauce. Also the staff are incredibly friendly to locals and regulars - I'm also judging from the clientèle that it's highly authentic!

One of the greatest dinner in London, hidden gem for Sushi lovers. Great atmosphere and friendly service as well as excellent food. I really loved Nasu Denkagu and it was one of the best sides I have ever taste. Highly recommended go ASAP!!!

The food was spectacular, the quantities were plentiful and affordable in comparison to most Japanese restaurants I have been to around London. However, I will note that the service in particular was not the greatest that it could have been, but I give them the benefit of the doubt as the restaurant was close to closing hours. Overall, I would highly recommend the small family run joint if you are looking for sushi around the Camden area.

Wow!! When you enter Sushi Waka you do so expecting a standard modern day sushi set up, all with brightly colored chairs, multi colored plates of sushi floating by on fairly monotonous conveyers... But then you are in the place and can't help going WOW!! Its fairly close to an original sushi dojo found all.over Tokyo stations, and comes with the sushi bar with the master behind it. We hadn't booked so gorgeous escorted to the mezz which has low Japanese seating and quite an amazing spot in itself. The service is personal and professional at the same time in a truly Japanese sense and the food, outstanding. The sashimi is fresh and extremely delicate not to mention really really fair priced. It doesn't kill your wallet. The Nigiri was equally excellent and accompanied with well warmed sake was quite satiating. The soft shell crabs are recommended and do do try the black sesame seed ice cream.. All in all, great value for money, warm people and yes..great location too!

Very good sushi. Prepared by a Japanese cook. Very tasty, wide variety. Its a crowded place, which also tell a lot how good it ism would come back when possible. Also love service and kindness of waitresses.

Nice little find! Had a tempura udon lunch set. The tempura is very proper, light and not oily. Udon is those chewy one with square cross section. Such an authentic Japanese place. The decor make me few I am in Japan too.

I thought the food here was really nice, and it's great value, but the restaurant itself looks really old and tired and there's absolutely no ambience. All the tables/chairs/serving plates etc are all really knackered old plastic and just need going over, there's an old aquarium with green water and everything looks like it hasn't changed since the late 80s. Some people will say it feels authentic, but I just thought it felt a bit neglected. The food is so good that you could honestly ignore that, but if it was a bit nicer this restaurant would be amazing. Pham Sushi is still my best bet for excellence sushi in London (without a stupid price tag).

Love love love this cozy, family-run Japanese restaurant. So much so that I don't want to rave about it too much so it gets too popular - it books up at the weekend already. They answer the phone in Japanese, and warmly give all customary greetings when you arrive and depart, and the walls and alcoves all have Japanese decorations, in a genuine kind of way. The upstairs even has a room with tatami mats where you take off your shoes and are sat at floor level. Then the food: both the warm and the cold dishes are excellent. I feel like they could easily charge more for the quality of fish they are using and presentation, but it has stayed good value for the past decade I've been going. I find they prepare particularly sumptuous mackerel - if you're not sure if you like it, try it here. If you find all the small dishes on the menu overwhelming to choose from, you can always safely go for the sushi set. I attach a photo of their lovingly prepared chirashi which can also come as part of a set. Warm dishes that are delicious, restorative home cooking include the nasu dengaku (aubergine miso) where they achieve a perfect balance of salty and sweet and umami, the gobo no tempura (burdock root tempura) which is lovely and fried and salty, and chewy inside the light crispy batter coat, and their spot-on miso soup. I heard once that two dishes to judge a Japanese restaurant on are their miso soup and their tamago (egg omelette), because they are so simple, that people who don't understand the cuisine can easily not take them seriously and it's indicative of how the rest of the food will be. You can really tell that Sushi Waka's miso soup is not being achieved with anything instant, and that proper care and attention has been given to the balance of flavours. This soup makes me smile. It may be small and unassuming, but as unpretentious, genuine, welcoming, good quality and good value as it is, it's my favourite Japanese restaurant in London.

Used to be Otafuku but has now been Sushi Waka for many years. The sushi is very good. The restaurant is small and does have an upstairs, although you have to sit on the floor. When available the Tuna , scallop and sweet shrimp are very good. Not much in the way of atmosphere its all about the sushi

Very authentic and fresh sushi and sashimi that doesn't break your wallet. Very lovely Japanese decoration, while not modern but it adds to the authentic feeling. The tatami room is an added bonus.

Simple place, the menu is quite extensive and the food is typical Japanese place done well. The salmon and avocado rolls were especially good.

Amazing experience. Delicious sushi, especially the Otoro Nigiri. The best I ate in London because it's the authentic Sushi you can eat in Japan. Really recommended!
