I first heard this little place a month ago and never thought how close it was to the Emirates stadium. They specialise in Xi'an food and street food which uses strong flavours and chillis. I came here on match day and picked out their Xi'an pork burger bao in chef's sauce . Tasted like pulled pork in a savoury sauce like a flat circular soft panini. Then I had pork and vegetable dumplings with Xi'an sauce. They dumplings were a little heavy in dough compared to the Cantonese style mixed with its tangy, vinegary chilli sauce. They were very mourish!
I finally picked a vegetable biang biang hand-pulled flat noodle in a special chilli sauce. The noodles were fresh, slightly chewy in terms of elasticity which is how good pulled noodles should be. I could've had another plate as it was tasty but I had a match to go.
They decor is simple...not a bad thing but it is a very small yet snug place at it only holds around 15-18 people in any one time.
Would I come here again? Yes I would, especially on match days but do get here early otherwise facing queue lengths outside!

Xi’an Impression feels so stripped down when you first enter it’s doors in Holloway Road/ Arsenal. But you walk out with such a good impression of this no frills Chinese restaurant, after dining on its delicious and authentic fare. Make a good impression. Xi’an Impression has been around a number of years. And it is a little hidden away on Holloway Road/ Arsenal just around the corner from the stadium. There’s only a very limited amount of seating in this shoebox of a restaurant. Fortunately my friend Judy and I were able to get the final table.

Authentic hand-pulled noodles - one of the best hidden gems in London nestled within Holloway. Definitely recommend the biangbiang noodles and the wood ear fungus starter.
