Disclaimer: went to the Allpress in Dalston Lane.
A simple but tastefully designed place, bright and open. The space is quite massive indeed! On the outside you have a beautiful garden, and plenty a people enjoying the sun. Inside is great i you want to work for a bit, and they have an (unexplored by me) top floor, also colossal in size. The coffee was good, nothing ground-breaking. In the old Zomato, it would have been a 3.5. With the new system, I feel 3 penalizes Allpress too much.
Usually at eateries, I am not greeted with remarks about my dress sense (or lack thereof). As I was to dive in once again to a more trendy crowd (where I often feel slightly ill at ease), I thought I would have to dress with a particular style. As I feared, as I approached the cashier, I was greeted with particular scrutiny, an exclamation of “is that Darth Vader”? There was some basis for such an interjection as I wearing my T-shirt with the heads of various cast members of the Star Wars franchise scribbled in cartoon likeness. I quickly found that I had made the right dress choice this fine day as he then proceeded to bear his Death Star shirt. Brotherly comradehood makes things taste that much better.
Excellent spot for a lite brunch. I wish I either lived near here or worked very close by, as I am sure I would be spending as much time in here as I could.
The coffee is roasted and ground on the premises, and is excellent. So smooth and full of flavour.
They also sell some excellent panini's. The kale and pecorino is my favourite.
