Brilliant cafe with great food and such nice staff.
What a cute little sidewalk cafe this is - everyone must mutter that whenever they pass by Cafe Rio near Warren Street station.
And quite small it is, especially the inside seating, but on a beautiful day, trust me that's not where you want to sit. Sit outside and people watch! I spent a month this summer in one of the offices in Fritzoy Street and always found the outside tables full, but most of the people who come there are from the offices nearby, hence only for a quick lunch, and therefore the wait time is very less.
They have a small but good selection of everything - sandwiches, salads, pastries, coffees, fresh juices and of course the Brazilian food. Unfortunately I didn't try any of the Brazilian food but the sandwiches were quite good. They usually ask you for the choice of bread. Price-wise, they are okay, you can have a sandwich and a coffee under 7. Yes, there is nothing to complaint about the coffees too.
Service is little slow. But if you ask them to hurry, they are efficient.
Attending a wedding this afternoon and wanted something to get us through. Walked into Rio’s and the owner was one of the most magnificent people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, kind, happy, shared stories with me. The food was to die for and the cafe itself, well I couldn’t stop looking around at the care and love gone into making the place while waiting for the food. Amazing ❤️
