Pall Mall Fine Wine is the sister site (and older sister at that) of Shepherd Market Wine House (which I visited last month and loved). As its name succinctly suggests, it is indeed a fine place to enjoy wine at a rather well heeled address. Like Shepherd Market Wine House, Pall Mall Fine Wine is a little laidback little bar and shop in a upscale local. Whereas Shepherd Market makes an airy and lighthearted statement with its cheery Provencal yellow tone, Pall Mall broods with a dark burgundy cast. Set midway down the covered Royal Opera Arcade and opposite a cello shop, it’s got a hideaway feel to it – like a cubbyhole for connoisseurs. And, connoisseurs certainly should be happy to seek refuge here. The wine list is phenomenal (nab a bottle of The FMC Chenin Blanc 2013) and bolstered by a good selection of cheese, charcuterie and such. Foie gras (£12/60g)? Yes please.
We stopped by chance and we.found a lovely wine bar with a relaxed vibe. We met Federico, he is very knowledgeable and very kind. It is a quiet palce, away from the tourist crowds of Central London, even if just around the corner from Piccadilly Circus or Trafalgar Square. Good Job.
I been in this shop several time and is always a pleasure to see Alberto and Federico. They are very professional and the wine and the food is amazing. I tasted the best wine of my life thanks. See you soon.
