This was my first visit to the newly refurbished restaurant previously under a different name and now revamped at Aqua. The menu is full of varied Mediterranean dishes including some Greek and Italian specialties. A good selection of patsa and risotto dishes feature as well as more fish and meat heavy main courses. On week nights and lunch times, there is a great value option for set menu as well (though being my first visit, I felt I really ought to sample the a la carte!) The portion sizes are quite generous with the trio of dips being more than enough for two of us to share. The tzatziki was perfect, light and refreshing. The taramasolata was also mild but flavoursome and very soft and airy. The hummus was delicious but probably, suprisingly, my least favourite of the three dips and perhaps could have done with a touch more of something.....but I can't put my finger on quite what!

Moving onto the mains, I had a real dilemma as to whether to go for the butternut squash risotto (always features on these types of menus so a safe choice for me) or whether to go for the oven roasted cod supreme. And ultimately, I went for that and definitely think I made the right choice. It was a large chunk of cod, perfectly cooked and wrapped in crispy pancetta, served on a bed of saffron and pea risotto. The flavours complemented each other really well and aside from perhaps a sprinkling too much salt in the risotto, it was a delicious main! My husband was equally pleased with his grilled lamb main course, which was tender and came with a tangy side sauce and some wheat pilaf. I almost didn't order a dessert (once in a while, this rare moment occurs) but I say "almost" because eventually of course, stereotypes hold true and I couldn't resist. We shared a tiramisu between the two of us and as common as they are in Italian restaurants, I am always so full of joy to find a nice one - one that manages to strike that fine balance between the right amount of alcohol, the right level of moistness, the right cream to biscuit ratio etc and this was ticked all the boxes!

Service was friendly and organised, especially considering how much busier and popular it was than one would expect on a Wednesday evening, particularly in a new restaurant. I suppose word has spread already about how good it is!

It also has quite a swanky, modern interior, which appeals to the local crowds and to the trendies in the area - it would be a nice place to head to for a celebratory dinner or with a group of friends. They made one small glitch with the bill at the end and were hugely sincere and apologetic when we raised it. We found the service to be friendly and helpful without being in any way intrusive. We will certainly come back.

Staff were welcoming and very friendly & professional, drinks and food menu is lovely , the ribeye steak and Beef ladder is divine , French Martini is a must
