Mixed feelings about this place. Food was really good - delicious vegetarian nut roast with potato, carrot, celeriac, gravy and Yorkshire pud. Friend had two grazing dishes - mac n cheese and chip butty. Sry happy with food, however in 6 weeks in U.K. this was by far the most expensive drinks by far. For a basic large glass of house Pinot Grigio and a double JD and coke we paid £19.60. This was £4 more than the dearest we paid anywhere else (and we've tried a lot!). Not impressed. So thumbs up 👍 for the food 🍴but not for the booze 🍷
Met two Scottish friends, who were visiting Tate London, for lunch, at The Morpeth Arms, nearby. Ate in the Spy Room, overlooking The Thames. Excellent food...AND LOTS OF IT...MASSIVE AMMOUNTS and priced very fairly. Good ambience, not over crowded...I sensed some locals were there...ALWAYS a good sign. Excellent friendly and personable service by Andrew and his people. A great treat for my friends. Job done. Thank you!
Very nice pub. I have been to a few pubs in London and I think this is one of nicer pubs. Old fashioned and very well maintained. It is a block away from Tate Britain near the Vauxhall Bridge. I had some wine and sticky toffee pudding, which was perfect for a cold misty winter day in London.
