Honestly the best fish and chips (& mushy peas) I've had in a long time! I had the battered plaice & my boyfriend had the battered cod. We shared both fish with chips and minted pea puree - I would definitely recommend doing this, so that you can sample more from the menu without over indulging, as we couldn't finish everything.
We spent around £35 for drinks and dinner for two (the house white on tap was a bargain!)
They do offer takeaway but I'd recommend eating-in to soak up the cornish seaside vibe. Next time i'll be back with a bigger appetite, so i can try the mussels and the puddings.
Gluten free beer batter :) coeliac friendly! Lots of other options too if you fancy seafood. Octopus salad was tasty and complimentary sparkling water. Finally staff were super friendly. I'll be back!

By far the best fish and chips I've eaten in London for years. Combine that with fantastic, helpful, friendly staff and bright, fresh surroundings and reasonable prices and you have the perfect place to sit back, relax and dine. Kid friendly too.
Great way of preparing fish and chips by a great chef, very fresh en very tastefull. A true recommandation !!
Very nice and friendly local restaurant with great fish n chips, surprisingly great house white wine! Will visit again if I am at the area!
This i a review of the new branch in Soho on Greek Street which doesn't have an entry in Zomato yet.
I was happy with my order but some of my fellow diners were less so. The four of us ordered whitebait and a large salt and pepper squid to share as a starter. Both very good and big portions. Be warned that the asian slaw that comes with the salt and pepper squid is quite spicy. I didn't mind but one person at the table couldn't eat it. I also liked the deep fried rocket that garnished the whiteboat.
As a main I had a small order of mussels which were excellent. It came with a finger bowl too. An order of battered haddock was fantastic. My companion who had the crab roll did complain of lack of generosity with respect to the crab. More mayo than shellfish. One member of the table had grilled haddock and complained that his fish was quite dull and under seasoned and not served on a warm plate. Chips were fluffy but a little greasy and also needed seasoning.
We asked for mayo for both the squid starter and chips. The mayo is homemade.
I love me a local soft opening. Who would say no to a fantastic chance of cheap food and discovery of what might be the new local? And I was ever so excited that a chippie was opening so close to my gym. Oh the oxymornic gym sessions to follow…nothing quite nourishes that post-spin class euphoria as some righteously delicious deep fried goodness.
Great gluten free and regular fish and chips! The batter on the fish was nice, thin, and crispy. The fish was moist and nicely done. The chips were well cooked and crunchy. Separate fryer for gluten free vs regular fish and chips as well.
Only complaint is that both fish and chips could have had more salt, but they definitely got the cook on them right.
Had a lovely meal here, staff were attentive and friendly with the customers.
If you were looking for standard chippy - this is not one, it’s a proper wine & dine restaurant. Wouldn’t mind getting take away/ delivery if I lived closer.
Starters: Mussels were perfectly cooked and delicious. You can taste a hint of the beer base sauce, not overwhelming and nicely complemented the mussels. I would probably ask for a finger bowl though.
Side: Chip - good chunky triple cooked chips, can’t complain as they were tasty; fluffy inside and crunchy outside.
Main: Hake with freekeh and tomatoes - really nice combination. Compliments each other and hake was perfectly cooked.
Thank you. Would come again if in the area or visit the Soho branch.
Really varied menu - so much more than just a fish & chip shop. The lobster lasagna is comfort food at its best. Make sure to save room for dessert though; the deep fried mars bar is heavenly. Super friendly service too!
Average chippy with prices on the higher side that reflects the location.
Few good things:
- Good drinks selection
- Child-friendly
- Double-fried chips
Some others not so goid:
- Food generally quite greasy (I know is a fish&chips, but...)
- Soup very watery lacking depth & flavour.
- very small
Amazing fish. Lightly battered like tempura. Not super oily. £15 meal deal good value. Pleasing interior and great location off the beat track keeps this place reasonable quiet. Chips are delicous and super chunky.
