Cafe Murano is my new favourite place in London and somewhere I really didn’t want to share with anyone, my own hidden gem. From the exterior it looked like any other cafe, nothing special about it at all. However when you’re inside the wonderful aroma of food welcomes you and for a second it feels like you’re inside a small restaurant in Italy. That’s how I felt anyway.
Cut loose from the family seat and the stuffy pomposity of Mayfair, Café Murano has casually taken up residence in Tavistock Street WC2. Its feel is light, personable, and spirited. The ambience is comfortable without being serious; staff exude the fresh friendliness and confidence that confirm Mum and Dad have let them be.
Not being rushed in a London restaurant is one thing, but being encouraged to eat at your own leisurely pace is something of a rare gift. Our waitron was effusive in her recommendations, clearly loved the food and sensing the moment, suggested we order our meal one course at a time. It’s these little things that create an evening from a dinner. She left Sally and I for a while to ponder the interesting yet manageable Italian menu.
It's very difficult to find legit Italian food in London tbh, but cafe murano is definitely one of the few legit ones. Had the ravioli and it tasted so good! Not in monster portion that would make you sick sometimes, and the texture of ravioli was excellent it was chewy that I felt like I could have ten plates of those. Unfortunately I didn't get to take any photos =(
