The Duke of Argyll is a large pub which serves good beer and very good prices. It has an old-world feel and there are some thoughtful details to the various old photos and posters around the walls. The look from the street is perhaps a little dingy but the good sized bar makes for rapid service and the large saloon means you're more likely to get a seat here than at many other nearby pubs at rush hour.
The food is decent enough and reasonably priced, though if you're looking for a pub dinner to enjoy then the Duke probably isn't for you.
On Soho Pub Tour with our fantastic Guide. Tom Hogan, our first stop was Duke of Argyll Pub. Time froze there and everything about it transported you to centuries gone by.
Rules of the House still stand: No Swearing, no music, no electronic devices. The place insists on interaction, conversation, conviviality.
Loved it.
Great little pub, I have been here a few times. Love the decor, exactly how pubs should look and feel. Due to location is can be pricey and get there early to secure a seat. Love the booths they have too. So unique and definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend and will return
