Cheerful pub which celebrates the boxing history of the area. They’ve been boxing around here since Roman times, as evidenced by Palestra House across the road.
This pub is quite small but punches above its weight in hospitality, food, amenities and quality and choice of drinks.
They have a great range of beers on tap and some amazing whiskey and whisky.
So today I was down waiting for the jubilee line, and low and behold there was a signal failure so the station shut down and we were all kicked outside. So to make myself feel better I went straight outside to the pub across the Rd. Wow, great place. Staff were friendly, quick service and an entirely Thai food menu. But good Thai food!! I only had the chiang mai chicken, but it was made of thigh/leg meat. Curry leaf I think in the batter. Was a flavour bomb! Other peoples food looked good too. I would recommend if you ever get delayed or not to hit it up for a snack. Also some good window seats for the people watching I like to do!!.
Right on the corner and filled with locals and boxing memorabilia. This place offers the lowest priced pint of beer we could find in London. 80s music was playen and we were drinking. Great hangout spot. They have a Thai restraunt connected to it. My favorite beer here was the Camden Pale Ale. Call me a sissy it was good. My wife's favorite was the Salt Jute Seasonal IPA. I say check it out.
