Small restaurant, very busy. Food is good but a not that remarkable. Price is very inviting and the ambient is home-like. Will try again to revisit this review
This place is so unassuming from the outside that its easy to walk past it. The decor leaves something to be desired and is heavy on the pine wood look, it also features a super realistic 'fire' with coloured stones.
BUT you will forget the decor once you sit down and are greeted by the guy who runs the place. He is AWESOME. He gave us health tips in greek all evening and made the meal even better.
You can order only from a set menu with the options being meat, veggie and vegan. We opted for just chicken and the food started to arrive.
Some raw veggies arrived with little spinach parcels. This was followed by soup (which I wasn't a fan of but Steph liked it). Then came the dips. Oh the dips. I can't even describe what we were served (mainly because I don't know) but they were lovely. Slightly lacking in salt but served alongside fresh bread. NOM.
The 'final course' was chicken in a lemon, olive oil and oregano sauce with rice and peas and salad. It was lovely.
The whole experience wasn't one to be forgotten. It was something like being at a relatives house and being so much food you have no idea what it is but still, it was all lovely, healthy and tasted authentic.
Plus the set menu is less than £12 and a glass of wine, only £2.50.
You can't argue with that.
Tip - CASH ONLY
The exterior does not come close to the amazing, authentic, homemade cooking within. Set menu and cheap. Definitely a 'can't-miss' opportunity while in Clapham.
