Great location, great service and the quality of the food is excellent. Menu is quite varied and well balanced. Cocktail and bar menu is very good. Would recommend. They can also cater for vegetarians and those with egg allergies.
The interior of Sartoria is elegant and sophisticated in the same way the lobby of a 5* hotel might be. Perfectly pleasant if somewhat boring. The lofty space is filled with suffused lighting, nicely distanced tables and sofas.
Comfy seating aside, we didn't get off to a great start. We waited 20 minutes for someone to come and bring us menus. When I finally flagged down a waitress she looked flabbergasted that I had to actually ask her for water and menus. Presumably service is normally a bit smoother, but for whatever reason (I think there was a large private dining party) that night it was patchy and slow, despite the staff actually being very polite and professional.
My annoyance vanished as soon as I was brought a glass of excellent Fiano di Avellino and our starters. We had the crudo di pesce (selection of raw fish dishes) and baccala' mantecato (a typical Venetian dish of buttery, salty cod). Both were very good.
We then had ravioli with nduja and an interesting version (apparently Sicilian) of lasagna (pictured). We opted for a very delicate dessert of rhubarb and lemon meringue (pictured) which was also lovely.
I would recommend Sartoria for a nice Italian meal in London with the caveat that I've given them the benefit of the doubt on service!
Great!. Great Italian food! Very reasonably price. The service is excellent, the food is amazing! Will definitely go back!
