I’ve eaten in several of the newer Brasseries and although the menus are identical I like how they have converted buildings in different cities to their style. However the original Ivy is in a different league. It’s always a treat.
Absolutely stunning little restaurant with the attitude and ambiance to match!! The food is the show stopper and is amazing!!!
Great find and if you haven’t tried it you need too!!!!
Champor Champor harks back to the glory days of fusion cuisine where pasta and satay, confit du canard and laab, gruyere and wasabi share the same plate.
Most of these innovative pairings work rather well - laab + confit duck, duck breast with satay and almond butter, prawn gratin, pork belly and rendang were delicious. The dishes that didn't work so well were perhaps where more precise cooking was required, red snapper, for example, arrived way overcooked.
Portions are enormous and while this is not haute cuisine, I enjoyed the hearty food on offer.
