We tried the Taste of Hakkasan menu and it was a great choice. The dim sum is amazing. I'd say order it twice instead of sharing. The salad was okay, but the dim sum was way better.
For the main dishes, we had beef and pork. Both were really good and had a tasty sauce. It was nice to have the real deal that other places try but can't quite get right.
The rice was also great. You get a pot of rice and some asparagus, but I wish there was more rice.
A couple of things to know: the restaurant is in a basement and you have to go down a kind of sketchy alley to find it. At first, I thought we were lost until I saw the menu on the wall. Inside, it's really dark. Each table has a bright light, but the rest is dark. The waiters wear dark clothes and surprised me a couple of times.
Haven't been for a while. The original London venue in Hanway Place. My favourite restaurant in London by far. The staff are lovely and very attentive. They are on hand as and when you need them, but let you enjoy the experience without being in the way. The food is out of this world, perfectly balanced flavours, textures and sauces. The atmosphere is lively but you can still have a perfect conversation at your table without hearing anyone sat close by. My most highly recommended restaurant in London. Our dinner and experience for 3 was exceptional! Thank you Hakkasan
Super fancy but the money is worth it. Usually for expensive restaurants you get small portions but here I was stuffed. You can tell its very high quality and the food is phenomenonal i am extremely pleased. I recommend the supreme dim sum.
Yesterday (11/10/23) was my first visit to Hakkasan Hanway Place. My Partner I went there for dinner to celebrate our 2nd anniversary.
The staff were warm, professional, attentive and engaging.
The Service was efficient & organised.
The food was delicious on every level and the portions
were surprisingly enough.
The receptionist was welcoming, friendly and professional
I would most definitely be coming back here again to celebrate something special and will recommend for friends and family.
A culinary experience to have, at least once, unless budget is no matter to you.
Beautiful intimate venue, very dark ambiance creates a separation between tables making you feel like you're alone in there although it gets busy. Atmosphere prone to conversation without deafening music.
Now the food, if you're going to Hakkasan, might as well go big or go home, try one of the selection of tasting menus varying from £78 to £208 per person. We went for the Pearl menu. The food arrived quickly with barely any time between dishes. Presentation was spectacular and the food was innovative and delicious.
Star of the show for me was the roasted silver cod with a sumptuous sauce that reminded me of beurre blanc, fish cooked to perfection with a sauce that took the dish to a superior level of fusion.
An expensive but unforgettable experience. Once in a lifetime 🙌🏻
One minor hiccup, which I hope will be rectified, is that we were charged for an additional bottle of wine which we never ordered nor drank.
