One of the better chain restaurants in my opinion - wide selection of pastas risotto pizzas skinny pizzas and lots of different starters to choose from. This is the first time I used tesco vouchers and there was no problem at all. Glass of fizz only 4.95 too!
A successful Italian restaurant chain that plays on good interiors, highly visible gas fired pizza ovens and a reasonably extensive menu.
We went for a birthday dinner in a group of ten.
The Bloomsbury zizzi is a huge volume space, glass on three sides with the focal point a large gas fired pizza oven. The fit out is modern, clean, slightly edgy and clearly popular. All of this seems to be repeated in other zizzi's I've seen in southern England.
The service was good, quick, efficient, helpful, friendly and accurate.
We ordered :
The sharing plate - arancini balls - huge and delicious
Prawn / chicken and pepper skewers - ok
Calzone - very good
A picante pizza rustica - delicious - large thin base topped with tomato sauce, nduja sausage, mozzarella, chilli, pepperoni, salami and rocket - highly recommended if you like mildly hot toppings.
Wild boar pasta - delicious but heavy going to eat a whole plate by itself - better to share I think.
.
Acoustics not brilliant (don't bring an elderly aunt with hearing problems).
Child friendly. Toilets clean.
Would I go back - possibly, but life's too short and London presents too many options to go anywhere regularly (unless you live next door which is unlikely).
Would I recommend it - yes, especially for groups, if you're in the area and your budget suits (ten - thirteen pound pizzas).
Caught up with some childhood friends over dinner. Being a Friday the place was really packed and we had to wait a good 30 mins before we were seated .
By then we had already decided what we were having. We Ordered some Zizzi Olives and Garlic Bread For Starters. The Olives were ok but i dont know why they kept the pits inside !! The Garlic bread looked more just a pizza than the standard bread we are used to but they taste good.
For The mains we ordered Pollo Picante Pizza, Rigatoni Pollo Funghi and Penne Della Casa.
All the 3 Dishes looked like a piece of art , just perfect. The pizza was good but just lacked a bit of seasoning. Rigatoni Pollo Funghi Pasta was delicious and i just loved the spiciness it had ...it was band on. Finally the Penne Della Casai had nicely cooked pork and chicken but the sauce was too watery and had to use a spoon and drink it as soup which was disappointing.
Tip :- - Make a Reservation...the wait is boring
