Absolutely gorgeous gardens and house with stunning views of the mountains. The staff were helpful and shared their knowledge. The cafe had a good range of food, beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Will be returning in another season to see the garden again. Thanks
Really enjoyed my visit, the garden and views were fabulous, the cafe had delicious cakes, was very tempted by the beef sandwich, but didn't have enough room for it.
The staff were knowledgeable and friendly.
The gardens at Plas Brondanw are those of Clough Williams Ellis, the
architect most known for creating the Italianate village of Portmerion, which lies a few miles away. Plas Brondanw being the home of Sir Clough, his wife and family.
The gardens are designed to provide a series of intimate areas combined with broader sweeps using planting, hedges and topiary. Statues and ornamental features add to the delights, creating points of visual interest. The stunning mountain views and the estural plain of the Glaslyn River offer a marvellous backdrop to the gardens and the house.
There's a cafe too.
