We visited The Padarn on 10th October to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday. From the moment we called to make the booking the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived they had decorated the table with birthday balloons for my mother.
The menu was full of familiar fare and boasted that the ingredients were fresh local products. The food was delicious, well presented and portion sizes were big enough to please our foody family. As well as my mother, there were; her four sons, two daughters, two sons-in-law and her grandson and his fiancee. All of us were impressed by the flavour of the mouth watering dishes we had ordered.
I had the pate with the mini pan loaves and rocket salad. The chicken liver pate was so full of flavour and the mini pan loaves made a pleasant difference to the usual oatcakes or toast. My main dish was the Beer battered fish served with chunky chips, minted peas and tartare sauce. The fish portion was huge and the batter was perfect. Crisp and golden on the outside, moist inside and not too thick. This was probably the best fish and chips I have eaten. My dessert was the creme brulle served with vanilla shortbread which was again everything it should be, warm creamy egg custard, thin crispy caramelised sugar topping.
The customer service was faultless and I would once again like to thank all of the staff at the Padarn for one of the best dining experiences I have had and the birthday girl loved every minute. We cannot recommend this enough and was one of the highlights of our holiday in Snowdonia.

We had a very enjoyable stay of 3 nights in double room 404 and adjoining 2 bunk room 402. We had an ensuite bathroom plus the use of a shared bathroom across the corridor. Both were modern and clean with plenty of toiletries. The beds were comfortable and bunks adequate for adults. The rooms were above the sport's bar and the Saturday evening was noisy with a disco. This didn't bother us as we were so tired from walking up and down Snowdon. The breakfast was excellent and one evening we enjoyed the Welsh lamb. We enjoyed having the garden as we were there in a heat wave. The staff were friendly and efficient. We wouldl recommend this hotel.
We came here in a bit of an emergency last night in need of a room as we were over 200 miles from home. The only room they had left was a bunk bed and we said we would take it and one of us would sleep on the floor as there was 3 of us, to which then they got us a mattress to have for the floor. A lady called Lesley Wilson which we think was the manageress couldn’t have been more helpful and we were so grateful for everything that Lesley and the team have done for us. We also had dinner and breakfast too and the food was lovely. The hospitality is fantastic and a great place to stay. Thank you again for managing to squeeze us in. Highly recommended.
