Great meal deals and an enjoyable classic pub atmosphere. Good pub for cost-oriented students.
Really enjoyed our stay in Lincoln and first visit to the william foster pub really enjoyed it good music and atmosphere drinks responsible priced aswel bar lady very friendly
Absolutely amazing staff.... Celebrating my 40th and daughters 18th... Playing monopoly, with challenges instead of buying houses. Very messy and very very loud.... Staff and customers were very tolerant of us and made our time there bloody amazing.... Will highly recommend to anybody.... FANTASTIC ..... 20/10 xx
Food's good and i have a special needs son whom the staff always make him feel special and welcome. I will definitely be going again x
Had a great plate of bangers and mash, paid extra pound for 2 more sausages, 5 sausages mash peas and lovely gravy. Pint of johns brilliant. Only thing missing was a slice of bread to wipe up the gravy.
A great sports bar with loads of TVs. Plenty of seating, food looked good but didn't actually have any. Not a massive choice of real ale and the one I wanted had just gone off, so had a cider. Beer prices very competitive. Generally a good boozer especially if you like your sports.
We decided since William Foster was in a side road off the High St, that it'd make a good place to stop for lunch whilst on a Christmas shopping trip in Lincoln. It's a large pub split into 2 main areas, with a really good choice of beers & meals, and plenty of space between tables. The staff were pleasant & helpful, just as well, as unfortunately we were informed that the hand battered cod & chips we ordered had run out, so had to sort out changing the order. In the end we ordered: Double BBQ Chicken topped with Bacon & Cheese (Hunter's Chicken), Double Burger the 'Bacon Classic', and I had the Mixed Grill. We all had drinks, and the bill came to just under £33, which considering what a less enjoyable meal in McD's or BK would cost, is great value. Food arrived within about 10-15 minutes, and was not only nicely presented (see my pictures), but well cooked too, especially my medium rare steak, perfect!
The only real disappointment was the grilled tomato, seared, but not cooked. I wasn't expecting a £9.99 Mixed Grill to be as good as this, but a good selection, decent quality and very tasty. The other 2 meals got a big thumbs up too, so all good, and left us ready to hit the shops again.
As for the pub, I'd imagine it does get very busy judging by how many TV's were around for the sports, and the pool tables, but a pleasant, not rowdy pub experience.
A lovely comfortable pub with delicious food and friendly staff. The desserts are lovely and very reasonably priced all round.
It's a pretty simple pub, nothing fancy. It does offer darts and pools. For a very casual place to hangout I recommend it.
Went for breakfast, and it was nice. The menu was varied, and the staff were friendly. The meals were good value for money. The disabled toilet was near the bar so easy to get to.
