As a local & regular customer I can honestly say that we have never had a bad meal in this place. Mark is a great chef & his food never disappoints. I can't recommend highly enough.

The welcome into the Poacher was very warm with the landlady smiling and welcoming, we had a drink while perusing the menu, we were given plenty of time to choose from a quite extensive menu with many choices. The food, when it arrived, was absolutely delicious, and for the type of meal we chose (t-bone and mixed grill) we didn't have to wait too long even though everything was freshly cooked. Following a couple of very nice sweets plus coffee liqueurs we were sent on our way with a very cheery cheerio from the landlady. All in all a brilliant evening, one which will be repeated. Highly recommended.

Two chefs running the place and you can tell by the food...the accommodation is more than I've experienced in the past with a great breakfast. Great place when I'm back here. Thank you

I had a wonderful stay here in Poachers Mews. Pippa and Mark were great, flexible with arrangements about arrival time etc and very helpful, especially as it was my first visit to Lincolnshire. Accomodation was excellent and what luxury to have breakfast brought to you. Metheringham village has plenty to offer if you don't want to eat in at the pub, but I can highly recommend the meals on offer and thoroughly enjoyed the meals I had there in the evenings and menu offered a good selection to choose from. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others, especially those wanting to follow Aviation themed breaks as very central for BBMF, Scampton, East Kirkby, many other museums and Lincoln itself .

Good place to stay especially with the train station round the corner. The only thing that’s let’s it down is the rooms. Nothing is wrong with the price it’s about where it should be but somethings in the rooms need some thought put in. In the room we stayed in lacks proper mirrors and coat hooks. The toilet brush needs changing. Never put a mirror above a sink with a shelf on it, people still do wet shave. It was designed for a very small person, If I stood up straight I couldn’t see from my nose upwards. Get rid and put a proper size mirror in. Put a shelf on the wall away from the sink. Put a full length mirror on the empty wall behind the door in the bedroom. Put as many coat and towel hooks as you can in both areas. And the lack of sockets was noticeable as well. Breakfast was good and the rooms were clean, like I said good place to stay.

Came to stay as visiting friends. Lovely warm welcome from Pippa. Rooms spotless with big fluffy towels. We stayed in the Poachers Mews behind the pub. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. Will definitely be staying again.

What a lovely place to stay. Our 3rd time here and definately NOT our last. Rooms are lovely, comfortable and clean. Outside the rooms is a small patio with two 6 seater tables and chairs. Lovely for the early morning sun and peace and quiet. The breakfast and the food in the restaurant is very hearty and filling. And Pippas Lemon Cheesecake is to die for. There is nothing to fault here. The hosts, the property and the location, brilliant. Thankyou both.

We booked a table for 5 last night and it was wonderful. The food was fantastic, lovely and hot, well presented and it tasted amazing. We all had different meals and we all loved it. The staff were very friendly and apologised for slow service as they were busy but it wasn't a long wait and we didn't mind anyway. We didn't feel rushed and we had time to digest before we ordered our desserts. Thank you for a great time, we'll definitely be back!

Lovely village, great pub, amazing breakfast and dinner. Great for a cheap weekend away. Quiet, secure car park was attractive for the classic car we were driving. Will definitely visit again
