I've been here twice now on a Sunday. Lovely restaurant with super efficient and friendly staff. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed the food. Very fresh and good quality. If you visit be sure to taste their HOMEMADE sticky toffee pudding. Its delicious! Lunch menu was really good too TWO COURSE £16.00, THREE COURSES £20.00
Passing by, I had never until a few weeks ago, found Lawson’s open. An A-board in the street with the lunchtime menu.
First impressions, an old stone building, as are most of the buildings in the street, the restaurant had empathy with the building.
The first floor opens out onto a courtyard. No shade, and a high wall blocks the view of the surroundings.
I was directed to a table for two.
A menu was brought, I decided upon soup of the day and slow roast belly pork, and cold water.
The vegetable soup was excellent, with two large chunks of bread and a tiny pat of butter.
Followed by slow roast belly pork with vegetables. The spices in the mash was overdone. I would have appreciated an additional slice of belly pork, on the other hand, it was lunchtime and probably would have been too much
A short cocktail list on a board by the bar.
I was brought a dessert menu. Nothing I fancied.
In the evening it closes quite early at nine. Maybe due to the binge drinking bars nearby, it would not be safe for diners or staff.
Staff pleasant and helpful.
Amazing food, wonderful service, and lovely setting. So good we stopped for lunch and went back for our evening meal on the same day! Cannot recommend this place enough, in fact we have...to everyone! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Lincoln.
