I have been here many times over the last 20+ years and never left a review
Midday lunchtime visit this week. Welcoming staff member on duty. Large menu choice available. My sister ordered chicken burger and chips (no photos available), very nicely presented. I ordered chipolata meatballs with rice and chips. The pub was spacious and easily accommodated my grandson in his pram. Everything about this place was great. One minor issue...3 attempts at ordering from the menu resulted in the choices being unavailable. I have not rated this lower, as the food we did order was in fact very good.
We both ordered desserts....mine being Oreo cookie crumble. Came with a choice of cream or ice-cream. Also very good.
For anyone who has not been to the Midge Hall I would certainly recommend you give it a try....the pub, atmosphere, service and food could not be faulted. Not far from the motorway network and surrounded by towns, countryside or parks to visit at the same time.
We had a lovely meal at The Midge which was very tasty, the menu is very extensive and has the option of 'smaller plates'. Very reasonable prices and staff were very friendly. The only thing that let it down is that it was very cool in the restaurant and we were all sat in our coats, we have had this experience at this pub before and it is ogg putting when the weather is chilly. We will go back when the weather starts to warm up again next year.
I LOVE NACHOS - sometimes finding a good place for nachos can be difficult but these were really nice, we had 3 bean chilli on top and were lovely to dip into the salsa and sour cream, I'm not a big guac fan but my party said it was great guac and not too overpowering.
The place was quiet and we heard some dogs barking so it's definitely dog friendly.
The food was really nice, I had garlic chicken and it was very garlicky but that's what I wanted, the salad was very much enjoyed and the fish and chips were good too :) reasonably priced for what we had
