Lovely open fire and quiet bar. The chairs may have needed to be recovered but they were very comfy. Low beams and very chilled out. Bar closes at 2.30pm till 5pm I believe. I could have fallen asleep 😴 meals were large and really cheap. We had 2 meals one side and 2 soft drinks for £20!!!! Toilets clean and heated ( not like usual ice box in other places!) if very 1980's😂😂😁😁😍 love retro! Will definitely be going back for lunch again.

Lots of history, lovely bar. Food was okay. Definitely needed a little more footfall and investment, but I was visiting for business on a dark and wet Friday night, so perhaps wasn’t at its busiest. It was Valentines Day; probably saw 4 other people. Staff very friendly...

We came for lunch on Sunday. We were welcomed into the restaurant, the staff were excellent and very friendly. The food was delicious. The prices are very reasonable when compared to other local establishments. It made a change from eating at the local Wetherspoons, the presence of which has made a negative difference to local businesses. The hotel bar/restaurant is rather dated and needs some sympathetic attention. But you can't fault the food/drinks and service. Would we eat here again? Yes we definitely will!
