We have been a few times for afternoon tea's. They have always been lovely. Our starter today was lovely, really nice. The main was a bit of a letdown. The pie was quite empty and the chips frozen. We will be back to try again though. The man who served us was lovely and helpful, and very friendly.
I worked in this hotel in what was the Brasserie 22 years ago,so I chose to stay here for a Thursday night whilst I was in Leeds for a family funeral with my partner. The hotel had changed a lot, but I love what they have done with the place.
We were made to feel extremely welcome at Reception and checked in. We booked a cosy double room, and we're given a room on the ground floor, which was fantastic.
The room was spacious and elegant and spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable. We were provided with an iron, ironing board,a safe and a hairdryer. Plenty of towels, tea/coffee with biscuits, bottles of water, and toiletries were all included, which was lovely, too.
The bathroom was again spotless, and the bath was long and deep, and there was plenty of hot water. The room was kept at the right temperature, and we had a lovely view of the courtyard behind the hotel.
The Stables pub was still as lovely as ever with a great menu and friendly staff. As was my old workplace now known as Convive, which is beautiful and a massive improvement on the Brasserie.
Overall, it was lovely to spend the night here in luxury, for a change as all the staff were lovely and it brought back fond memories for me.
Very convenient hotel for visiting family in Leeds, with good parking, pleasant staff and an efficient lift! First floor room had a view over hotel approach and grounds and decent storage space. Free WiFi was useful and the breakfast offerings were fairly standard but satisfying. Good coffee! Would book again.
