Had steak an ale pie - it was delicious, just a tad overdone on the top pastry. The chips and vegetables were also very tasty, but the swede was unfortunately rock hard. Food was reasonably priced and was served within good time.
2 large glasses of red wine cost over £17 which I thought was hideously expensive, but apparently that's just Leeds prices ??? (It's been a while since I've been out in the city centre!)
Staff were very friendly and there was nice outdoor seating with heating.
We weren't looking for this pub, we sort of found it by accident. What a lucky find, we were cold and needed somewhere to warm up. This pub is lovely and comfortable, with nooks and crannies in which to sit and chat over a drink. There is a very good selection of beers, cocktails and other drinks available from friendly bar staff. The menu looked very good, so we will definitely be going back to try the food. Our dog was welcome too, thanks
We had the Christmas buffet menu before we went to see the Rock n Roll Panto at City Varieties. It was the perfect start to the night. The food was great, the service was brilliant, they catered for our intolerances and provided Christmas crackers. Everyone loved it. Thank you The White Swan!
