I recently enjoyed an idyllic afternoon tea in the gorgeously curated Firethorn Cottage, hosted by the wonderfully gracious Caroline and husband Steve. Within the traditional walls you'll find a roaring fire, fresh cut flowers, original hard wood, and the spectacular afternoon tea menu. Starting with your choice of warming beverage, you're then welcomed with a rustic cream of tomato soup (Spring menu available until May) adorned with fresh cream, chives, and a puff pastry flower. The savory course welcomes a trio of delectable sandwiches including chicken and tarragon mayonnaise, cucumber and cream cheese with mint, and wensleydale with beetroot chutney. As well as a homemade Lincolnshire sausage roll and a plum bun topped with Lincolnshire poacher cheese. The sweets course comprises of victoria sandwich cakes with an Easter twist, rhubarb and ginger eton mess, chocolate brownie, and lemon scones with clotted cream and lemon curd. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. I cannot recommend Firethorn Cottage enough!

A jem of a find tucked away in Laceby. We were greeted by Caroline who, along with another lady (apologies I didn't catch her name) remained extremely attentive throughout our visit. The decor was quaint with a lot of thought and attention to detail given to it. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a log fire that was regularly topped up was the icing on the cake (pardon the pun!) and made it feel extra special. The food matched the first class decor and welcome. It was plentiful, unusual and delicious (doggy bag was a must!). Good luck to Caroline and crew I hope you continue to be fully booked ... so long as you make room for another visit from me 🤭.

Had a marvellous birthday afternoon tea treat with two dear friends. The couple running this charming updated cottage style tea room were very friendly and accommodating. The home made food was exceptional and well presented. I absolutely loved the tea cup of delicious brocoli and Stilton soup with garlic flower croutons to start with! Gorgeous decor inside and outside...and a new log burner adds that special homeliness 👌.......5 stars
