Fantastic bakery, outstanding pork pies and the fat rascals are the best

We made a point to stop by here to sample their delicious warm pork pies. Verdict? Delicious! We even took some away to freeze for later enjoyment. Towards the end of our visit to this quaint town we returned to indulge in their apple turnovers - full of cream and delightfully wicked! Oh, and the staff, whilst extremely busy were patient and friendly. Thank you!
We have to stop here whenever we come to Knaresborough. The cakes are amazing, and the staff are lovely. Always up for a chat and advise on what to order. The carrot cake was the nicest ever! And my son recommends the gingerbread
Delicious and good value. The pork pie with apple on top today was great. We got sandwiches too and brought home a Victoria sponge to eat with cups of tea - so light and tasty.
A lovely corner bakery - Cornish Pasty & Apple Pork Pie were brilliant & the lady who served us was great, would happily go back! 👌

We just dropped in during lunch time and got lovely served: a grilled ham and salad sandwich, a chicken breast salad sandwich and a divine cream croissant… it was just delicious!!! Had been wanting to go in here for a while, it was closed last time I visited so today I stocked up on a few items. Buying one of their bread and butter puddings was a must, and I got one of the large meringue tarts too. Nothing has any prices on, so the total was a bit of a shock, I had to go back in to double check there hadn't been an error made on the meringue price. There hadn't. Ooo, errrr, missus, shan't be buying another one of those then. What I have sampled so far has been nice, but I think more for a special treat for me, rather than anything more regular, as it's a bit on the pricey side.
i would go back just for the strawberry tart. it was so simple yet so good!
We looked in the window and the display of buns and cakes just drew us into the bakery it’s so refreshing to see such a selection of different breads cakes and buns not to mention the bread and butter pudding they also do a selection of pies savouries and sandwiches I have to say I’ve just eaten a couple of slice of the granary loaf so tasty and filling this is not a restaurant
My only comment why don’t you display prices on your breads and cakes well worth a visit
Really enjoyed our visit to Hirsts. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Lovely cobs & the Raspberry Tart & Apple Turnover were delicious
Like most reviewers we originally stumbled upon Hirst's on a visit to Knaresborough. Now if we're travelling up or down the A1 we have to call in and stock up. Hey, who am I kidding! We often drive to Hirst's from Rotherham just to stock up on treats. Try the Spelt with honey bread, delicious with blue cheese or brie!
