I almost don't want to tell you how good this place is because you will all want to go lol!!! It's off the beaten track but well worth the visit, very pleasant clean surroundings and the staff are warm, friendly and very welcoming. Accessibility is level throughout and there was plenty of disabled spaces, although there is a little bit of a walk to the entrance on gravel; however this is very flat and even. There was also a great outside seating area which looks like it would be a lot of fun in summer with an outdoor kitchen and pizza oven.
As for the food you won't be disappointed, quality, well presented food without any long delays and very healthy portions for those with a bigger appetite; it was delicious! They do add a service charge to your bill, bit the waiting staff are clear to point it out and inform you, you are welcome to remove it; needless to say we left it on!
Really enjoyed our evening and we will be back! Here's hoping you all don't beat me to it š¤£š¤£ seriously worth a visit, you will not be disappointed.
Tried this restaurant for the 1st time with my husband. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, however it did get quite noisy/ cramped the busier it got. The service was quite slow and took a while to get our food/drink orders in. We had 3 courses today, starters were Haggis Bon Bons and Goats Cheese Bruschetta. Both were really tasty, lots of flavour and beautifully presented. We then had the steak and blue cheese baguettes for mains. The flavours again were fantastic, but we felt quality of the sirloin steak wasn't the best. Was quite fatty and chewy. We both agreed it would have been 5 star if fillet steak had been used, as it is more tender and lean. We then had desserts: Creme Brulee and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Again, both were very tasty. Good selection of wines and beers. Overall, we had a pleasant meal and was good value for money.
We had a delightful dinner here in April 2023 on an evening that had already been made memorable by my having been notified that my mother had been accepted into a mime school in Amherst. Really comfortable pub atmosphere here and great food. A bit noisy with the hardwood floors. For dessert we especially liked the cream cheese pie and the sticky toffee pudding. For mains the favorite was prob the sea bass.
