Many people mourned the closure of 1884 Dock Kitchen but that sadness should now be a celebration with the opening of STEAK/1884 on Humber Street.
My wife and I had the 10oz 32 day-aged grass-fed Hereford beef sirloin, medium-rare, with a side order of Triple-cooked Beef-dripping Chips and it was exquisite. Beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and exactly what a steak lover would dream of.
For desert, a selection of cheeses served with celery, grapes, crackers and a fantastic tomato pickle to die for. Superb.
With outstanding service and an intimate setting with a 30s Art Deco feel, STEAK/1884 is an exceptional restaurant and a fine addition to Humber Street.
This place is intimate and relaxing. Great steaks on the menu and specials board. From the board, I had a 49 day aged sirloin steak £30, medium rare. It was perfect for me. The sides are an extra cost. Plus for desert creme brulee with pear and shortcake was the best I've ever tried.
Staff, Elizabeth and co were very attentive. Shall I be going back? Yes.
The meat quality was much higher than you normally get in restaurant even one specialising in meat . The steak I had was prepared exactly as good quality meat should be handled. Cooked to perfection.
The restaurant was well above my expectations friendly staff good service and very high quality food.
