The food was lovely but sad to say that the service we received wasn't the best. Whenever we've been before, there has been who I believe to be the owner there and everything has been perfect with great service. When we went last night, he wasn't there. The guy serving us seemed to have a lot of his friends there and once we'd been served our sharing platter and drinks, he didn't come over to our table again. Even after we had finished eating, our table wasn't cleared and we weren't asked if we wanted desserts (which we did want and also wanted more drinks) the guy was sitting down on a table behind us eating with his friends. We were the only ones in there so it wasn't like it was hard to miss us. We would have spent more money in there had we been asked if we wanted anything else but we were kinda ignored. We went to get dessert at Cafe Gelatto over the road instead. I'm very disappointed but I didn't want to give a low star rating as every other time we've been, it has been great. I hope the place hasn't been taken over by new owners as the owner of this place is lovely and gives very good customer service. Please take this as constructive criticism rather than an insult and bring it back up to the standard we know the place to be.
EDIT: I booked for my partner to have her hen party meal and drinks here. She had a fantastic night and the staff were amazing! I went in to set up the table and put a few decorations up and they helped us do this :) Thank you so much for giving her such a great night! The food was lovely as usual.
Super tasty food. Really good value. Nice friendly staff. Would recommend the sharing platter.
Headed here with Wifey, Nephew and his fiancée for a late brekkie come lunch (some may say brunch but I ain't no jessie so late brekkie it was lol)
This was my second visit to this lovely little gem on Newland Avenue and, yet again, the food, drink and atmosphere hit the spot.
I plumped for the Egyptian breakfast with a side order of Aubergine Puree, Wifey had the small platter option (stufffed vine leaves, hummus, spicy sausgae, grilled Aubergine puree and other bits) and Nephew and fiancée plumped for the Chicken kebab. All the food was accompanied by nice warmed up flat breads.
All washed down with; Chai Tea, Fresh OJ, Coke and very tasty Coffee.
The service was second to none and the background music made for a nice exotic atmosphere.
If you ever fancy something a little different for brekkie then you can't go far wrong than visiting Nofretete.
