The Camerton pub was a bit of a surprise, not what I was expecting. From the outside, it looks like a modern, built chain pub. I've driven past it dozens of times and never been tempted to call in. However, after seeing lots of very good reviews (thank you, Google Maps), I decided to call in for a drink and was glad I did. That will teach me not to judge a book by its cover. The pub is nicely laid out, and the dining area is separate from the bar and quite cosy. There is also a separate traditional bar with a pool table and a private function room. There is a good selection of beers, larger and cider, including a cask conditioned hand pulled real ale. The food is not the usual pub chain food but freshly prepared homemade food. Although I did not eat, the meals coming out of the kitchen looked very nice indeed. I will definitely be back to try the food. The staff were very welcoming. There is a nice outdoor play area for children, live entertainment and dog friendly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I haven't had a meal yet.
Lunch time sandwhiches are now my go to! Came in for the dessert special lemon tirinassou I had seen on Facebook and ended up having fish on gluten free bread with a gorgeous salad and the best mushy peas ever (crushed peas now my fave 😁). It was so nice to eat REAL food and from 2 picky eaters who need food separate it was all fab. I had half of my dinner and had the rest in a takeaway box for home so that I could have the dessert which was spot on 😁 lovely staff and made to feel welcome as soon as we came in. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful food & great service from the friendly staff.. was a little disappointed to over fill myself with the delicious starter and Sunday lunch I didn’t get to experience the desserts… we will definitely be back and skip the starter in order to have the dessert.. perfect for families as a great play area out the front for the little boys to play..
