A real belter of a pub. Superb food and very good drink in fantastic surroundings. The pub / dining area split works very well and gives both areas good character. The garden and in particular the play castle are an absolute joy kid adored it and we loved the deck chairs in the sun. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth the detour.
Stayed at The Berney so many times now if feels like our second home. Staff are fantastic and so welcoming and food is great. Great you can take dog's too, be back soon for sure. Love Claire, Martin, Seb and Hamish x
I spent 3 nights in the Berney Arms hotel, I had to travel to the area for work.
The reception was very friendly and helpful when I arrived.
I got room 3 for the first 2 nights, which is located inside the main building, the room with a full bathroom is very spacious and comfortable, looked like that is the master suite.
I was moved to another room for the last night, which is located to the side of the main building, that wasn't as good as room 3, the bed was a bit harder, the room was a bit colder, when I couldn't sleep anymore at 3 in the morning, as I felt a bit of a head cold coming on, I wanted to take a hot bath to see if it would help me to feel a bit better, then found out the water out of the hot water tap wasn't even luke warm, running the bathtub about half full, the water nearly felt cold on my hand, so I abandoned the idea of a hot bath.
I had dinner there every evening, the food was excellent every time, my compliments to the chef!
My overall experience was good, I would stay there again.
PS...I was probably spoilt a bit the first 2 nights in the big room, then the last night in the smaller room was a bit of a let down.
