Our room was clean and warm, water was hot, and with toiletries provided. It is on the A35, but sound-proofing is surprisingly well, one can't hardly hear the traffic when windows were shut. The restaurant has become a Greggs, so no more free breakfast. You need to get the room key from the cashier of Greggs, and ask them for WiFi password. There is a petrol station next door and they have a convenience store there. Axminster is just 10 minutes away, with some good choices for dinner. Overall, the motel is ideal for an overnight rest on the road.
Good little place as a pit stop. Felt a bit like a little chef in the old days, still quite pleasant. Food was tasty after doing some Fossil hunting earlier in the day. The lady behind the till was friendly and helpful :) Our party had the double cheese burgers and chips and was happy with them. Would go again if ever over that way again.
What a gem of a place! We stopped here on Christmas Eve & so pleased that we did, the service from the staff was no short of excellent - the ladies were all so smiley and friendly! The drinks we ordered were excellent and we even received some complimentary homemade biscuits. I don’t understand why so many other comments/reviews are poor and giving this place 1*? Complaining it’s “too expensive” yet I don’t doubt you would all happily feed the same amount of money (if not more) into a large corporation? Let’s stop complaining about the real people trying to make a living and help them out please! Please don’t hesitate to come here/be put off by any negative feedback - it’s a wonderful little pit stop on your journey, would highly recommend :)
