Wonderful place, great ethos, very welcoming team, interested in the community and actively involved. Tea bread and soup were both excellent. Loved the monthly newspaper. A lot of hard work and effort, clearly from the soul, go into everything offered here. I cannot recommend more highly. I wish I lived 3 minutes rather than 3 hours away.
Wonderful and welcoming cafe such that I ended up making a habit of visiting for a morning coffee most days I'm visiting Keswick. They're all about the fresh, local and ethically sourced produce.
The scones and cakes are amazing and the coffee is really well made. Slightly telling is just how popular it is with the locals. You get the impression they owners know most of the people in the cafe.
Speaking of locals, if you get there at the right time, one of the locals may well be paying the piano. If he isn't there, as I understand it, pianists are welcome to jump in his seat. So I've heard anyway. I've yet to see it happen.
One thing to be aware of is that they're a cash only place so make sure you visit one of the dwindling Keswick cash machines before you wander in.
Highly recommended for a tea/coffee and cake/scone. I've not had a meal there but from what I've seen, they look great.
Absolutely delightful place with locally sourced and made food, probably very reasonably describing it as the "friendliest Cafe in Keswick."
Blown away by the gentle atmosphere and wholesome connection; by the end of lunch, Ian knew most of the names of our party of 12. Food was delicious. Recommended.
