I've been going here since I was in my twenties, the food is fantastic, because of the popularity of the place it's a bit rushed but the food more than makes up for it

This is such an East London gem! Serving the community some of the best bagels in the city. I'm a little bit obsessed with their challah and salmon cream cheese bagels... as well as the mini danishes and florentines. Recently ordered some food for a party and it was a massive hit. So much choice, it's an absolute must visit to stock up (or look at their delivery). Please never shut Shalom - you da best 🙏

I went in to buy some salt-beef and rye bread for my Mum's birthday lunch. Everything was lovely. The shop is just as I remember it from my boyhood.

I felt like a kid in a candy store walking into Shalom Hot Bagels Bakery. There are so many delicious sweet and savory offerings that you will be spoilt for choice. Thankfully, you get 1 hour free parking outside the bakery so that you can take your time sampling fresh items from their bakery.

I love it there, sometime you have to wait a bit but it’s all worth the waiting when you tuck into the sweetened fish balls. The main reason for me venturing is the breads all be it bagels, platzels to Black Rye bread

Best bagels I've come across so far in London and Essex! Every filling is nice and the place is certainly popular. It doesn't just sell bagels there is plenty of other products to try out!!!

It's small but beautiful and well organized setup. As soon as you enter, a nice smell welcome you and then the smiling faces of the staff. Tried many items, all were so fresh and tasty, highly appreciated and recommend others to give a try.

As a regular patron of the goodies on offer at Shalom, I feel with confidence that I can say it is easily one of (if not THE) best delis and bakeries in London - move over brick lane! The shop itself has a really authentic old school feel where you know you will be supporting a small local business, as well as getting the real deal (none of that stale bread with a hole stamped out business that you get in the shops). There was a lovely motif on the old tiled walls that sing retro in the best way, and you can see the kitchen in the back (can't believe this hasn't gone viral on tiktok yet). The owner is really knowledgable and super friendly, offering to help out with any dietary requirements or questions (my sister is DF so this is an important one in our house). I recommend their catering services/delivery - whenever we have a family event (most recently my sisters hen party) or if we are going away for a weekend we like to stock up on their goodies... Danishes, Florentines, Cinnamon balls, Bagels, toppings (tomato, egg, cream cheese etc) and challah. I saw a few negative reviews about the staff being unwelcoming which was a bit of a surprise as I have always had a great customer experience, so I wouldn't hesitate to go in store on that basis. Overall an authentic and reliable Jewish deli that has been a massive part of the community for decades - if you are in Gants Hill it would be a shame to miss.
