So I wasn't sure at first to eat here. From the outside, it just looks like a bit of a rundown pub. However, after looking at what menu we could find online, we decided to give it a good.
Firstly, there were two ladies working, and both were friendly, happy, and a pleasure to be around. One of the ladies was very funny and down to earth.
We were treated to table service with a good selection of draught and bottles available. The food menu was really good with a wide choice to suit most. We were told today was pie night (two pies and a bottle of wine £35)
My friend had the chicken, ham, and leak pie, and I had the hunters chicken. Both of them looked amazing and tasted even better. We also had a side of garlic bread and onion rings for the table. The food here was really good. Pipping hot, full of flavour, and definitely worth the money.
Staff were amazing. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. However, my only advice is to book to avoid any disappointment
Was staying in the area overnight and had no recommendations for dinner, but after a day of thumping rain I really fancied some comfort food.
We arrived on pie night and had to have exactly that. Chicken, ham and leek - absolutely delicious, and served with loads of veg.
Staff were fantastic, very attentive and a great rapport with customers.
Tables filled up very quickly so I would book to avoid disappointment.
Very nice Seafood platter, burger was OK and pie was pretty good so all in all food was tasty, good quality and reasonably priced.
Service was OK, bit awkward with the one bar person, but the younger members of the service team were great.
It was a very traditional pub and was what you would expect, the ladies loos had very nice toiletries and smelt great too. I was told by my wife😊
