We found this restaurant on our quest for decent fish and chips. It took a while for the staff to notice us, but when we ordered the food and it arrived we were quite surprised. The fish and chips were great, the nachos aswell. The restaurant is part of a hotel that looks cozy. Unfortunately the train tracks are right next to the outside area of the restaurant which results in a quite unpleasant noise in the background, but other than that our experience was decent. We'd rate the Kings Lodge a 3.5/5

Lovely pub and place to stay. Beautiful beams, comfy beds and lovely staff. Will stay again. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food.

Attended a reception at this deceptively roomy bar and restaurant. Was worried that the car park was too small, but discovered more parking around the back. Staff vary helpful and welcoming. Plenty of tea/coffee laid on. Food was lovely.
