Wanted to try here for a while and now I have and enjoyed it. Food is nicely cooked. My other half had liver and said it was very tasty and tender and I confirmed that by trying some. I had the sliced roast beef which was very tasty and tender without the grisly bits. veg was peas and carrots with mash and boiled potatoes. We would have preferred say broccoli or cauliflower but instead of the peas but that's just our preference. For sweet we were Guinea pigs trying out a new xmas sweet option with a cheesecake like appearance which had a biscuit and mince pie base, and contained rum soaked raisins rice pudding and chocolate raisins with and topped with swirled cream. My son and me enjoyed it but said it didn't need the cream on but it still went down well. My wife said she loved the taste but the cream was too much and was a bit too much for her really. The chef is a great down to earth jovial character and said he could cook anything and alter food content if required as he did for the wife. Elliott the landlord is a friendly guy as well. Also called Elliott is his parrot who whistles from time to time. Thought the bigger room was a bit dark and a change of lighting would help. Good sized car park and is dog friendly. Overall we will go back as we enjoyed it and recommend you do. Mains from around £10 sweets £4.95 Beer selection is good if a little pricy at £3.60 but it's becoming like that now.
We we're well impressed Sunday just gone. Really welcoming hosts and staff, a really well done beer garden, my daughter loved the cute play area, and thank you for letting us eat outside, the view is beauty. Oh and Thankyou for letting our daughter order slightly off menu too!
The food was great, keeping a small menu really pays dividends as everything we had was that extra bit special, the veggie parcel was ace and the crumble was really exciting, I didn't have a bad mouthful of either.
Thanks again to all your team as you really made our day.
Friendly welcome, well-kept real ales, great beer garden with fabulous views down the valley!
