Really nice pub would return if i lived in the area.
Visited for a beer and some food with wife and infant daughter, large carpark, is located at the top of the hill, staff and the locals were very welcoming.
Nice selection of ales lagers and spirits. Restaurant section looked to be closed, but the lounge was bright and modern finish.
Pub menu was served as per the website but they had a nice choice of specials.
Had the special starter peri peri chicken samosa with pickled molis, perfect balance of curried samosa, sharp pickled mooli and spicey peri, came with an interesting almost experimental bread and charcoal garlic butter, mmm yummy main was a wholesome hearty gaint yorkshire brimmed with onion gravey and sausages dressed with a herby oil and fries on the side, was perfectly portioned for a big fella like me, may be too much for some, but a brilliant meal. Finished off with a white chocolate raspberry blondie, with a tart raspberry coolis and custard. Wife had the burger was thick and tasty, nicely seasoned. Daughter had a big portion of fish fingers and chips. Table services was efficient and friendly.
Locals were nice to talk to aswell.
We all left happy and full, would recommend.
An excellent village pub at the heart of the community, not only serving the normal bar food but also excellent gourmet food as well. Steak night is a must or the fish and chips are the best in Huddersfield!
First visit... Wow will be returning. The food was very cooked bringing all the flavours out, the presentation was excellent. Staff are extremely helpful and attentive.
