We hired the star at Roffey for a 21st Birthday party. From the minute we walked in and spoke to Sarah & Aaron about hiring part of the pub out we felt at ease. Nothing was too much trouble we felt welcomed and everything would go off without I hitch. Communication was great and if we needed an answer to a question we needed to ask it was answers quickly and professionally. On the night of the party we were able to set up with plenty of time and no need to rush. In fact Aaron and some of the very friendly regulars helped us set up. We had disco/karaoke at the party and even Aaron (The landlord) took to the mic. ( he’s got a good voice on him also.) the party was really fun and as I said before nothing was too much trouble. So we would like to thank Sarah & Aaron and all the locals from the Star in Roffey for a great night. We have been back since for the karaoke on a Thursday evening that was fab also especially Aaron’s very different , quick and fun bingo game he plays. So well done all at the Star. For making it such a memorable evening. This is a great community pub and now with the landlords it deserves. Long may it last. Kind regards Wendy & Steve.
We hired out the function room at the Star for our son’s 1st birthday party on a Saturday afternoon and it was fantastic. Aaron and Sarah (the landlords) went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for it to run smoothly, from letting us come in early to set up, moving tables around, to lending me things I’d forgotten. I was able to connect my own music to the Bluetooth which was great too. It was very clean, quick service at the bar and the function room was perfect as it had a separate entrance, separate toilets and a private outdoor area that was undercover. We had soft play for the kids there and they were happy to have this set up. Everyone who came was really impressed and I’d highly recommend for any upcoming events you have.
We are locals at this pub and have seen many landlords, but Aaron and Sarah have completely changed the pub for the better. They are always involved in local charities and activities, put on a fun night EVERY night of the week. They are fantastic landlords and have created such a brilliant environment!
