Overall the experience was very good and the staff are very helpful. The amount of staff is minimal and it can be quite a long wait before you can order. Also the removal of the facility to have tab and therefore the necessity to make multiple payments was a major inconvenience. This resulted in a loss to yourselves as normally we would have more drinks and sweets etc and just one bill. As a result we never returned to add anything. However my bill was much smaller than normal!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Standing Stones restaurant, and I must say that our server, Harrison, was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Harrison's attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were impressive. He patiently answered all of our questions and provided helpful recommendations based on our preferences. His enthusiasm for the food was contagious, and it definitely enhanced our dining experience. Throughout the meal, Harrison ensured that we had everything we needed. He was prompt in taking our orders and kept an eye on our table to make sure our glasses were never empty. Despite the restaurant being busy, he managed to make us feel like we were his top priority. What stood out the most about Harrison was his genuine care and friendliness. Reviewed Standing Stones on Tripadvisor after a recent visit, but went back today and once again everything was excellent. Dawn doing the Bar and service was fantastic as usual, and the dishes we were served were excellent, and we were told John was preparing the food, and he is clearly doing a great job. Well done to everyone, keep up the great work.

Had the nicest meal and service of any place I've been . The staff were so polite and helpful in every way . When we ordered the meal we were asked of anyone had any allergies and how would like my steak cooked . All our meals were so nice . We will definitely be back in October. Went here today with my partner for a meal as we were in the area. My partner has an egg allergy, so we are quite aware when ordering food out. I asked the server if their Lasagne contained Egg, (many in these types of eateries don't, as its made with dried pasta as opposed to fresh), to be told 'I'd expect so, as its pasta'. So my partner chose the sausage and mash, and I had Lasagne with chips, and a garlic bread pizza. The service was quick and efficient, and food did not take very long to come. When it arrived, the garlic bread was shocking. Upon returning the garlic bread, the manager/supervisor dealt with it very quickly, replaced it, and couldn't apologise enough. He was also very apologetic regarding the lack of knowledge and checking of the egg issue with the Lasagne. On a whole, the food was OK, nothing to write home about, but in no way offensive. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and well presented, but again, it doesn't make me think 'I must return here!!' The one saving grace from this pretty unmoving, and unremarkable experience, is how the manager dealt with the issues we had, he was very attentive and apologetic and is a credit to the business, and without his dealings, I'd have probably given this venue 2 starts as opposed to 4. So to sum up, the venue, despite being clean and tidy, was just nothing special, the food was OK, what you'd expect from a pub like this to be honest, and the service was an acceptable standard. The manager/supervisor made this experience for me, because everything else was pretty standard. Would I return??? I highly doubt I'd go out of my way to return here, but I wouldn't 'avoid it like the plague' if I was in the area and hungry again. I've eaten in lot worse places, but I've also had better experiences in similar style places.
