Had a lovely family meal here tonight and would highly recommend it. Carvery was lovely, cooked to perfection at a really reasonable price, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! We will be visiting again soon. Thank you. x
Great character pub with real ales, good food and friendly staff. The views from the decking area are outstanding as you enjoy a pint on a sunny day. It is central to a lovely walking area and the Geopark Way passes its doorstep.
I have worked at the Malt Shovel now for over 6 years ..I love it. Working with Lucy Tegan Vicky Sue and Chris its amazing how well we all work together its great fun .

Its been over 20 plus years since my last visit and I have to say the place has changed, for the better. Building work is almost complete with the restaurant area which will get a visit, very soon. But for me, the selling point was the view from the rear beer garden. Just stunning!!!

Good night out after lockdown ended on pubs. Friendly atmosphere and a good pint. Food not being served just yet, like a lot of pubs. Its an hours travel from where I live, but it was worth the drive for a pleasant evening. Social distancing measures were in place.
Had a day out in highley and stopped off for a drink and some food with my partner & 19 month old little girl. The staff were friendly and the new owners were very welcoming and attentive. My daughter had a great time playing on the bouncy castle and the play area outside.Food was excellent and The views were spectacular... i will definitely be returning !! Lovely place.
