Had lovely family Sunday lunch here and it is certainly the best value we've had in a while. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was excellent, portions were generous and the food was lovely, with their yorkshires being outstanding.
The bill was a very pleasant surprise, which is an increasingly rare experience these days. Highly recommended!
Popped in The Bute Arms after a walk around Chopwell Plantation for some lunch, never been before. Husband ordered all day breakfast which was spot on and I ordered the lasagne which was also lovely, tasted homemade.
Recently refurbished, so everything is still lovely and new; great woody smell from the big pile of logs for the wood-burning stove, it felt nice and cosy on a grey day.
We were offered the brand-new lunch menus. The burgers were tasty, food very well presented and staff were friendly.
The puddings were the highlight though. My husband loved his cookies and cream pie (very rich!), and I had the apple cider and butterscotch pudding which was a gorgeously moist apple cake in a large pool of butterscotch sauce. It didn't need the custard at all!
Excellent value at £9 for two courses.
