Visiting family, and we came here for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub staff were very helpful. Gluten-free item clearly stated on the menu. I had baked cod in a cream sauce on mash potatoes. Veg was put on the table to share. It was presented lovely. It was more expensive than l would normally pay for a Sunday lunch £18 but the quality was there, so l didn't mind.
Finally found a beautiful place to enjoy a 0.0% Lager on draught. The beer garden is beautiful overlooking the Knoll Beck.
We arrived at the Elephant and Castle and were greeted straight away with a warm welcome and a friendly smile.
We were seated away from most of the hustle and bustle of the restaurant (which we really appreciated) and asked straight away what drinks we would like.
We had a few minutes perusing the menu and were asked if we had decided what we wanted to eat in a good, timely manner.
We both ordered 'The Posh One' breakfast. The food was clearly a very high quality, with immaculate presentation. It's more than clear that great pride is taken in the sourcing, cooking and presenting of the dishes. The potatoes that come with the breakfast were particularly tasty.
We were given some time to chat after we finished our food before the plates were cleared. We were then asked if we would like anything else.
We asked for the bill and this was brought to us straight away, again with the upmost professionalism and warmth that we experienced throughout our whole dining experience.
We could not find one thing to complain about or to recommend to better the service. Absolutely A-star.
