The Helston Meadery is a traditional Cornish tavern that offers a unique dining and drinking experience to visitors. The building itself is a historic structure dating back to the 16th century, with low-beamed ceilings, slate floors, and exposed stonework, which creates a unique atmosphere. The tavern is located in a prime location on Coinagehall Street in Helston, making it easily accessible for tourists and locals alike. This meadery is famous for its homemade mead, a drink made from fermented honey and water, which has been enjoyed for centuries. Helston Meadery offers a wide variety of meads, including traditional meads, spiced meads, and fruit meads, each with a distinct flavor and aroma. They also have a range of local beers, ciders, wines, and spirits for those who prefer something stronger. Aside from the drinks, the Helston Meadery is also known for its hearty and delicious food. They serve a range of traditional Cornish dishes, including fish and chips, pies, stews, and pasties, all made with locally sourced ingredients. The food menu caters to a range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, making it accessible to all. Furthermore, the tavern organizes special events from time to time, including live music performances, quiz nights, and other festivities. The meadery also offers guided tours of the establishment, allowing visitors to learn more about the history of the building and the process of making mead. In conclusion, Helston Meadery is a must-visit place in Cornwall, particularly for those interested in local history, traditional cuisine, and mead-making. With its unique ambiance, delicious food, and a wide selection of drinks, it is guaranteed to provide an unforgettable experience to all who visit.

So lovely to have a Meadery in Helston; who doesn't like Mead? The traditional Meadery Chicken was delicious, although I would have liked to see some coleslaw with the salad. There was also a supply problem with the mussels and they weren't available. The option to order a smaller portion (as in other Meaderies) would be appreciated as not everyone can eat half a chicken! Apart from these mainly teething problems we enjoyed our meal, will definitely return and can only praise the attentive staff.

Have visited a couple of times. We were welcomed the minute we entered the restaurant and taken to a table. The surroundings made for a lovely evening and the staff were cheerful and accommodating. Drinks were served promptly and the three courses arrived with the minimum of fuss. Tasty food and Mead! Many thanks to everyone.

Really dislike giving such a good review especially when they are just on our doorstep I know we will struggle to get in here come the summer.... however this place is amazing the staff are excellent I didn't see one member hanging around if anything they didn't stop running around the whole time I was there very attentive. Food was exactly what I expected and the kids menu is a brilliant extra not something offered in other meaderys. We will be back.

Booked a table at the Meadery and was delighted to have spoken to a helpful and efficient member of staff ....arrived on time to be greeted and shown to our table ..was immediately impressed by the decor and ambiance created by the transformation into a warm and cosy Meadery ...with happy and attentive staff dressed in appropriate attire. Drinks were served in good time ...and orders taken ...the standard of our food was superb .....obviously some care had been taken in the presentation ....and everything felt "just right".....venturing into the toilet ....every surface was probably the cleanest and most sparkling I have ever seen in a restaurant anywhere . the bill when presented was reasonable and confirmed excellent value for money .....I would CERTAINLY recommend HELSTON MEADERY for anyone living in or visting the town ........A E Soady
